Circle of the Moon by Faith HunterI feel so torn about these books. I love the characters, the setting, everyone’s different magical abilities. But. After reading about mysterious ailments throughout so many books between the Soulwood and Jane Yellowrock series, I don’t think I can take anymore. They seem to get weirder and more unexplained as it goes on and the novelty has worn off for me. Unfortunately I think this is my last Faith Hunter book, for now.3/5 Stars…

Paris Day 2: Lille and Relaxing

Paris Day 2: Lille and Relaxing

Since Joe and I have revisited Paris so many times, when we go we like to spend a day exploring a part of France we haven’t been before. I was considering a few options and eventually decided on a trip to Lille after reading a post about a day trip on Pardon Your French. Overall we were a bit disappointed and I really believe this was due to us being exhausted/sore and the weather being cold and dreary. I booked…

All the Beautiful Bodies by Danielle Porter

All the Beautiful Bodies by Danielle Porter

I’m not a reader of thrillers or erotica but I am a fan of the writing Danielle has done under the name of Juliette Sobanet, so I was both excited to try something new and not sure what to expect with this erotic thriller. I was absolutely blown away by how much I loved it. I’ll jump right in to a few of my favorite things about this book: It was a fast-paced, immersive read. I didn’t have to make…

Paris Day 1: Père Lachaise Cemetery and the Louvre

Paris Day 1: Père Lachaise Cemetery and the Louvre

On Friday, the fifth day of our trip, we spent the morning at Disney before taking the RER to Paris. We checked in at our hotel, Hotel Aramis in Saint Germain, and went off to lunch at La Cantine du Troquet at the suggestion of the concierge. I had a new-to-me white fish, Joue de Lotte (monkfish cheek in English), in a bourguignon sauce. Joe and I both loved our meals and one of the employees was so incredibly kind…

The Glass Woman by Caroline LeaBefore my trip to Iceland I came across a write-up about this book and its upcoming release. 1600’s Iceland and odd things happening; it sounded like a perfect Iceland souvenir to pick up while I was there. I did end up finding it in Reykjavik and since Iceland is so expensive the darn thing cost me $40. I was really disappointed by this book. I think if every part that has the main character, Rosa,…

Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris

For our fourth trip to Paris we decided to spend more time than just a day trip outside of the city. I found a deal on the Disneyland Paris website for a discount on the hotel plus free half board (breakfast and either lunch or dinner) and we spent our first two days in France there. I grew up in Florida and have been to Disney World countless times but this was my first time going to a different park…

Wednesday Whimsy #25

Well I’m shocked that over two months have gone by since my last WW post. A lot has happened but nothing too exciting besides a trip to Paris. I’m working on sorting and editing photos and I really can’t believe that it has come and gone already. I have lots of posts planned so keep an eye out if you’re interested. Book Juliette Sobanet is re-releasing all of her Paris books- they have new covers that are absolutely GORGEOUS! The…

48 Hours in Iceland

48 Hours in Iceland

When booking flights to Paris with Icelandair, Joe and I decided to add a two-day stopover in Iceland so we could see a little of the country. Neither of us had been to a Nordic country before so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. What I had heard and read about Iceland is true: the weather is extreme and everything is very, very expensive. Sun, rain, snow, and hail all within five minutes and $40 for books, respectively. The two…

A Dangerous Collaboration by Deanna Raybourn Sweep in Peace by Ilona AndrewsI read Clean Sweep a few months ago after letting it sit on my Kindle for way too long. I loved it so much that I immediately bought this book, the second in the series. Dina is offered a lot of money and a chance for her Inn to thrive if she agrees to host a peace summit. It’s an extremely risky meeting but she eventually relents. One of…
