New Orleans Day 2

New Orleans Day 2

We had breakfast at Mister Gregory’s and it was A M A Z I N G. I had the Fierce Femme and it is tied as one of the best meals of the trip and possibly the best breakfast I have ever had. So simple, so filling. Will have pics with my “iPhone pics” post! We signed up for the hop-on hop-off bus tour and, despite the crazy rain, had a good time. We took it from just next to the St. Louis…

New Orleans Day 1

New Orleans Day 1

We landed around 4pm on Saturday and after picking up our rental car we made our way to the house where we would be staying (rented through VRBO). It was dark by the time we were ready for dinner but braved the French Quarter anyway and landed at Vacherie. I ordered the NOLA Style BBQ Shimp and Grits and it was the worst meal of the whole trip. The shrimp was pretty spicy and the grits were completely tasteless. I…

San Francisco

San Francisco

Joe and I took a quick trip to San Francisco last November and I am just now getting around to sharing a few photos. Von Dahl Killed the Locals. 😉 I have found that my second trip to places are usually much better than the…

Disney World 2014

Disney World 2014

Last month I visited my parents, who live in Jacksonville, FL. I was born in Tampa, lived in Florida until I was 10, and guess I count this as where I “grew up” because as far as I’m concerned the 15 years in NC didn’t happen. One of the great things about Jacksonville is that it’s only about 2.5 hours from Orlando! I can’t imagine a trip to Florida with Disney. Who doesn’t want to go to a place where…

Portland!

Portland!

Two weekends ago I took a sister trip (me, my sister, and two friends of mine who are sisters) to Portland. We had a bunch of little reasons to go but mostly just wanted to get out of Seattle to look at some different buildings for a couple of days. It was a short trip, leaving Seattle on Saturday morning and driving back Sunday afternoon, but we packed in a bunch of fun things. We visited the Pittock Mansion… I…

Washington’s Olympic Peninsula

Washington’s Olympic Peninsula

Joe and I had a great weekend in September spent on the Olympic Peninsula. We stayed in Sequim (pronounced Skwim) and visited the Hoh Rain Forest, Hurricane Ridge (no pictures because it was completely foggy), and the Olympic Game Farm. We completely missed on lunch and dinner on Saturday, but Sunday brunch at The Oak Table Cafe was totally amazing. Next time we want to make it out to the coast and plan on a longer hike in the Hoh Rain Forest…
