Wednesday Whimsy: Paris Every Day by Rebecca Plotnick

I am a long-time follower of Rebecca, both on social media and her blog. She travels to Paris many times a year and I love following along on her adventures. Her blog, Everyday Parisian, is a Francophile’s dream; filled with musings from her Paris trips, recipes, travel tips, and more. And her beautiful photography!

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with her debut book, but each page was an absolute delight. The main draw is the photography: it is exquisite and will transport you to Paris with the mood she has captured in each one. After a thorough backstory on Rebecca’s life, the book is laid out by seasons, which is my absolute favorite way for a book to be. Within each season there are notes, tips, diary excerpts, or lists on a variety of topics. To give an idea, there are pages for people watching, seasonal menu ideas, produce, and boulangeries. Something to note and that I really appreciate is that most of these topics are on a single page, so it is the easiest thing to open the book to any page and enjoy what you see or read. The writing is short and sweet: distilled down to its essence and I can see that we both love Paris in the same way. This book will be easy to return to any day, in any season.
