Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli 5/5 Stars
I love this book and I love that it is part of a duology. Series can drag on and on these days and I really appreciate a short and sweet story. One can’t really say much about subsequent books without giving too much away but just know that what I loved about the first one is the same for this one. The writing, the world, the craftiness of the people who are drawn to each other and tell themselves they’re just using the other to accomplish their goal as an excuse not to end them or their interactions. I love the ending. I may be showing my age here but one thing I didn’t love about the book is that it seems a bunch of early 20-somethings are running things with a few exceptions. Seems unlikely! But I do love these books and definitely recommend. Read my review of Heartless Hunter here.

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry 4/5 Stars
Another great big beautiful book by Emily Henry, with all of the romantic tension and literary nerdiness we have come to love and expect from her stories. My only beef is how long and detailed the story of Margaret Ives got before I realized I needed to pay closer attention to it. I think that her story didn’t really resonate with me and that’s why I had a difficult time getting into it. Overall, loved the book and went through the audiobook very quickly.

The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst 3/5 Stars
A cute cozy cottagecore book. I love a plant sidekick. Great food descriptions and making of jam. Two stars removed because Keila’s antisocial personality is extreme enough that it feels like a box to check rather than something that developed naturally, as does Meep. However, I do look forward to reading more in this world.
