The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer 4/5 Stars
This is such a wonderful book. I love everything about it: the characters, the world, the magic, the realness of everything is so well done. I love the real world and the magical world. Just thinking about it makes me want to read it again. The reason I didn’t give it five stars is that due to the m/m love interest I, personally, was not able to get super invested, but I do think that the love story aspect was excellently done.
I was given a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren 5/5 Stars
Coming off of a high from the latest Emily Henry new release (Funny Story), I needed to find another source for smart romance. I was absolutely delighted with The Paradise Problem. I devoured it in three days and I fell in love, laughed, and cried along with Anna and West.

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree 4/5 Stars
A great light, nerdy “beach-read” type book. Easy to get immersed in the world with likable characters and a unique world with it’s own unique problems. The audiobook was great.

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden 3/5 Stars
I was supposed to read this for a book club but couldn’t stand the writing style or the voice of the main character so I DNF’d around 10%. When I learned that the first half of the book is Millie’s POV and the other half Nina’s, I decided to pick it back up again if I didn’t have to hear from Millie for the entire book. Ultimately I am glad that I finished it because I think what the author has created is dark and unique, but I really can’t stand her writing style. I won’t be reading any more books but I am interested in spoilers from them to see where the story has been taken and how dark it gets.

The Measure by Nikki Erlick 4/5 Stars
I really liked this book. It’s unique and thought-provoking. You can tell that the author really spent a lot of time getting into the heads of each of her many characters to learn the intricacies of why they would or would not want to know how long of a life they’re going to have. Four stars instead of five because the ending felt kind of unsatisfactory in regards to the strings.
