Wednesday Whimsy #1

Wednesday Whimsy #1

Bonjour and welcome to my first Wednesday Whimsy post! I came up with the idea while in Paris, in the middle of the night, unable to sleep, and browsing French and Paris-themed articles. I have a lot of blogs, instagram accounts, movies, books, and online reads I regularly turn to or search out and thought I’d create a space to share all the good stuff. Originally I thought it would be a “French Friday” sort of thing but I found myself craving a mid-week pick-me-up. The format may change a little as I see what works with the info I happen to have for a particular post, but I plan on posting these at least twice a month, more if I have the material for it.

Books

Yesterday Samantha Vérant’s second book, How to Make a French Family, came out! It is a wonderful book and I am thrilled to be a part of her online blog tour. My post will come out next Tuesday, April 11th so keep an eye out for it if you’re interested. See my review of her first book here.

Also out yesterday is Elizabeth Bard’s third book, Dinner Chez Moi. I’m about half way through it right now and really love it. A review post will be coming soon! See my reviews of Lunch in Paris and Picnic in Provence.

Articles

An English-language newsletter was launched by adorable French brand My Little Paris to help us hopeless Americans be a little more Parisian. NTY article here and link to sign up here.

A fun interview with Morgane Sezalory, the founder of French brand Sézane.

Blogs

Two of my favorite French blogs are Les flâneries d’Aurélie and Mode and the City . Aurélie and Daphné have the best outfits, super cute pups, and go on the dreamiest trips.

They also have two of my favorite French Instagram accounts: o_reilly_s and daphnemodeandthecity.

Share any of your favorite French things in the comments or let me know what you’d like to see in a Wednesday Whimsy post!
