Hello, my name is Jess. I spend my days keeping our small mid-century house, doing yoga, studying French, and always thinking about what I’ll cook next. Currently I’m working on strengthening my photography skills and writing a novel. Most evenings you can find me with a book (or kindle) in hand.

I grew up moving around Florida and North Carolina. In 2010 I graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in English and in 2012 my husband, Joe, and I moved to Seattle from North Carolina for job opportunities and a better way of life. These days we live with our two cats just north of the city.

I review new and forthcoming books via the Ace Roc Street Team and NetGalley and have been a part of launches for books such as Tasting Paris, How to Make a French Family, and The Winemakers. I mostly read sci-fi/fantasy, French memoirs, comics, and magical realism but lately I have been branching out to non-fiction by way of true crime and science. Through Shelf Quest I hope to share books I love, trips I go on, and more about myself.

I shoot with am iPhone XS, a Canon Powershot G9 X Mark II, and a Canon 70D. Lenses I use are a kit lens, a 50mm, and a 55-250mm.
